THE PROBLEM:

Back in March 2009 the Plant City Eagles Youth Football Concession Building was burglarized. Thieves stolen over $9,000.00 worth of equipment and concession supplies. The Eagles Concession Stand, with the support of volunteers and community residents had almost reached a point where the youth football program would have been self-sufficient. A police report was filed. The thieves were able to back a "vehicle" up to the concession building due to area being concealed and no lightning and literally loaded up as much as they could before daylight.

This burglary has set the program back approximately 2 to 3 years.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We are accepting financial donations (tax-exempt) and/or more importantly replacement items that were stolen. Here is a list:

PRIORITIES:

$800.00 to fix scoreboard. Scoreboard is required to host playoff games. The concession stand will be able to generate more revenue if we are able to host playoff games.

Portable Large Fryer on wheels. Base of fryer was damaged. Seeking donated services of "WELDER" to fix rather than replace.

Conduct fundraisers (selling chicken dinners) every other Friday starting June 26, 2009

Next fundraiser is Friday July 24, 2009. We are selling chicken & rib dinners

Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation had plans to erect a security fence in preparation for a possible child care site. The schedule to erect the fencing was moved up to May 2009 as a result of the burglary.

Lightning of the area at night along with posting of signs noting park closed after 9pm were erected as well.

Those whom wish to donate items can either contact us at 813-340-2557-NEW NUMBERS to pick up or items can be dropped off at the Bealsville Recreation Center at 5009 Nesmith Road, Plant City between 9am to 4pm daily. Please notify us in advance so that receipts for donations can be provided.
